Ballet
Janet was a painted doll in a ballet recital of Wedding of the Painted Doll when she was 5. “I walked on and walked off,” she says.
Janet really got interested in dance in Camp Louise, where she did modern dance. When she went to Goucher, she joined the Modern Dance Club.
When Lisa was 14-17, she studied ballet with Ellen Eckhardt. Janet joined Ellen’s mothers’ class. That got Janet started in many more dance classes. Here she is doing bar exercises in a class of Vladimir’s (the man in the photo to the left), which she took with her friend, Fuzzy Sellis, in Baltimore.
Janet likes all kinds of dance. “I thought anyone who didn’t dance was really deprived,” she says.
